CSW completed the extension of Ray Road between Sossaman and Ellsworth Roads for the City of Mesa in late 2011. CSW worked with multiple stakeholders to provide value engineering solutions, subcontractor selection and schedule development to accelerate the work to meet the City of Mesa’s timeline. The goal of involvement was to deliver the best possible project to the City at the lowest possible cost. Costs for the project were contained by our innovative approach to building the project in segments and our relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best possible pricing at bid time. CSW maintained strict dust control compliance over the 3½-mile project, allowing the project to be completed with zero dust violations. CSW implemented quality control standards to ensure compliance with Mesa’s paving specification for the 95,000 sy of new asphalt paving and subgrade preparation resulting in a paving job considered “flawless” by City officials.
