Due to FAA regulations, rigid specifications and the safety hazards inherent in highly complex and secure aviation environments, an aviation project demands a specific mindset and expertise. CSW consistently meets and exceeds high aviation construction standards and the tight scheduling requirements that often accompany them. With an eye on value engineering CSW coordinates with design engineers to complete long-term projects and handle emergent situations as they arise. Our responsive team has extensive experience identifying and clearing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and performing pre-staging activities to ensure that our clients receive maximum production during tower closure periods.

Practicing project partnership and constant communication, CSW's aviation construction team settles for nothing less than success. The majority of CSW's field employees are security badged to work at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Some of our more prominant aviation projects are listed below:

Treatment Plants - Landfills - Mine Support - Site Work - Street Improvements

Aviation - Projects
CM@Risk Taxiway D @ S2 Reconstruction
This fast track CM@Risk aviation project required tight scheduling and quick resource deployment. CSW's constructability review and value engineering input saved the client almost $1 million from the initial GMP and led to project completion well ahead of the original proposed schedule.
CM@Risk N1 Apron Modifications
This CM@Risk project required both pre-construction / design and construction services for the expansion of aircraft parking for Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Constructability review and value engineering contributed to re-phasing the project for completion one month ahead of schedule. Value engineering also led to significant budgetary savings.
Aviation Civil Construction Job Order Contract
CSW is currently completing the second of 3 to 5 years as the general contractor on this JOC for the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. Within this contract CSW provides civil construction services to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Deer Valley Airport and Goodyear Airport. The award of this renewal was based on successful completion of work on the same JOC from 2005-2007.
Checkpoint B Expansion
CSW's rapid response was requested on this project after another contractor caused an electrical outage in the baggage claim at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on the eve of Thanksgiving. Our team employed innovative construction methods and worked around the clock in tight confines to solve this problem before the impact of busy Thanksgiving holiday traffic.
Runway Safety Area Erosion Control
Installation of fractured rock in existing airfield to provide erosion control and stability for aircraft that could roll off the existing taxiway at Scottsdale Airport. This project required attention to and the removal of all Foreign Object Debris (FOD) at the end of each shift, and was phased to provide maximum support to airport operations staff during the busy winter season.
North Apron Drain and Fire Line
Aggressive scheduling and self-performance enabled the completion of this project two months ahead of schedule and under budget, minimizing impact to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport operations.
